A Day visit to Anglesey Abbey

To see the display of Snowdrops

Friday 13th February 2026

This will be our first outing for 2026 to visit Anglesey Abbey in Cambridgeshire. It is famous for its snowdrop collection and the gardens are home to over 500 different varieties of snowdrop. Many of the snowdrops at Anglesey Abbey are rare and can only be seen on this exclusive behind-the-scenes tour, which takes visitors into an area of the gardens that is normally closed to the public.

Join one of our expert garden guides for the chance to see these rare and unusual varieties up-close and hear the intriguing stories behind how there came to be such a vast collection at Anglesey Abbey.

Snowdrop tours will run daily from Sundays to Fridays from 26 January until 27 February 2026. There will be an option to join a tour at 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm. Tours will last roughly an hour.

Please note that spaces for tours will be charged at £5 per person. All funds raised through snowdrop tours at Anglesey Abbey help to care for this special place. Pre-booking is essential and we recommend booking early as these tours are always very popular and we expect them to sell out quickly. Tickets are non-refundable and normal admission to Anglesey Abbey applies.

If you can't join a tour on the day you visit, you will still be able to see hundreds of snowdrops along the Winter Walk, Woodland Path and Jubilee Avenue.

Cost  Entry fee for a Non National Trust member is £17.10 per person + coach fare £21.80 making a grand total of £38.90 per person. A day visit to Eltham Palace, Eltham S.E London

Thursday March 12th 2026

Come and join this trip and take just a few steps and travel back in time hundreds of years from Art Deco modernity to a medieval masterpiece.

Gaze out from the minstrels' gallery across Eltham Palace’s magnificent great hall. Look up and admire the glorious hammer-beam roof built for Edward IV more than 500 years ago.

First recorded in the Domesday book, the Eltham estate was presented to King Edward II in 1305. It developed into one of the country's most favoured royal palaces, in part thanks to the 1,000 acres of deer park on its doorstep.

In 1936, eccentric millionaires Stephen and Virginia Courtauld decided to build their magnificentart deco mansion right next to the medieval Great Hall of Eltham Palace - creating a masterpiece of modern interiors. They transformed it into a lavish home, infused with Art Deco architecture and state-of-the-art technology

Explore enviable interiors like the amazing art deco dining room, site of many illustruous dinner parties; and Virginia Courtauld’s instagram worthy gold-plated bathroom. Learn about the lives of this eccentric couple during your visit. Look out for the unusual rooms in their stunning home, including the map room where they planned their exotic world travels, and the small, centrally heated spaces specially designed for their pet lemur!

For a complete contrast with the 1930s rooms, step into the 1470s Great Hall – part of the medieval royal palace of Eltham, where Henry VIII spent his childhood.

Don’t miss the palace’s beautiful gardens, with their mix of medieval remains and Arts and Crafts influences. There’s a visitor centre with a shop and a pretty café in the glasshouse.

Cost: Entry fee £13.10 + coach fare £23.00 making a total of £36.10 per person. Please note that the coach fare could be reduced if the numbers exceed 35.

However, if you are member of the English Heritage the entry to the Palace is free.
